Robbie Williams BECOMES A CO-OWNER OF LMA, THE UNIVERSITY CENTRE FOR MUSIC, PERFORMING ARTS AND CREATIVE MEDIA

ROBBIE AND LMA ANNOUNCE THE LAUNCH OF A BRAND NEW LONDON CAMPUS IN 2020

ANNOUNCEMENT MADE TODAY AT A
PRESS CONFERENCE IN LONDON, HOSTED BY SCOTT MILLS

Global superstar Robbie Williams has joined forces with LMA to become a co-owner of the College & University Centre. The announcement was made today at a press conference in London, hosted by Scott Mills. LMA is an education centre that lives and breathes music, creative media and the performing arts – providing accessible degree and BTEC courses for young people to discover and hone their creative skills.

Robbie, who chose the LMA Choir as one of his final four acts for the live shows of The X Factor last year, found an instant connection with the LMA team. Of the new found partnership Robbie said:

“I am delighted to now be an official member of the LMA Family. As soon as I met them all I was so inspired by their passion and drive and wanted to get involved – I hope I can help motivate the next generation of pop stars, performers  and creatives.”

Robbie’s role is to drive forward UK and international expansion for LMA, which will start with the launch of a new London campus that will open in 2020.

This summer will see Robbie headline British Summer Time at London’s iconic Hyde Park on July 14. As part of his much-anticipated performance, Robbie has hinted that the LMA Choir may be making a special appearance with him at this sold-out event.

In his new role at LMA, Robbie will join LMA founders, Richard Wallace and Simon Wallace, along with former Tesco chief Sir Terry Leahy and investment expert Bill Currie, who have also recently joined the LMA team.

LMA offers Degree courses in Musical Theatre; Acting; Music performance; Games & Animation and Film and TV Production, all validated by Staffordshire University. LMA prides itself on a family ethos, combined with world-class training, delivered by industry professionals.

Richard said: “The last 12 months have been incredible for LMA, some of the highlights have included our choir starring on The X Factor and our students performing alongside the original cast of Fame, through to our actors and filmmakers having amazing opportunities being cast and crew on multiple TV dramas and feature films, alongside greats such as Sean Bean and Gerard Butler.

“Fantastic experiences have also happened for our music students, from bands and solo artists touring the world, session work in top studios, to providing original material for Film & TV.”

Simon said: “Bringing Robbie on board is a real dream come true for us all, as we know how passionate he is about developing young talent and sharing his knowledge, experience, creativity and connections.

“We’re now looking forward to our next chapter as we plan to expand LMA across the country and overseas – and we cannot thank our team of exceptionally talented tutors and, of course, our fantastic students for making all of this possible.”
