Rising London based producer and artist MISOGI (prod. AJ Tracey, Lil Yachty, Yeat, Dylan Brady / 100 Gecs) has today revealed details of his new single SHOEGAZING featuring Dirty Hit’s No Rome, with a beat created by MISOGI, Cedric Madden, Jay Trench and Ginseng. SHOEGAZING is the follow up to recent single PINK NOISE (ft. Dream, Ivory), which has received great support at editorial playlists (The Other List, Alt Pop, The Indie List and New In Electronic) and is named after a collective that MISOGI is part of, in which he runs a label and a buzzing Discord server. 

Speaking about SHOEGAZING, MISOGI says:

‘I thought the beat was so amazing and I wanted to use it so bad, but with more rap beats it’s hard for me to find my footing. I was struggling with writing something and then I gave the instrumental to Rome and he just hummed a melody on top of it. It was perfect to me – I just didn’t understand how he was able to navigate it so easily. It’s another example of how he’s a genius, basically’. 

MISOGI’s new album ESCAPE ARTIST, which is available to pre-order now, alongside a brand-new merch range, is his first full length release in nearly three years, following the release of 2020’s little*stars. The new album marks both the evolution of his tastes and a return to his musical roots, with MISOGI referencing Clams Casino and Friendzone as early inspirations whose presence can be felt in his music once again.

ESCAPE ARTIST pulls together everything MISOGI has experimented with over the years, acting as a meeting point between the many avenues he has ventured down and a coming together of the different incarnations of himself.  Whether collaborating with his extensive community of like-minded musicians or working on his own, MISOGI is an ever-evolving, always inventive artist doing things his way.
