INTRODUCING KALEIDA
NME – ‘Wood has one of those imposing voices that seems to envelop your surroundings, with Goulder’s transparent production providing a subtle electronic counterpoint.’
DIY – ‘The production is sharp, with drama drenched lyrics being backed up by a sinister cause.’
The Line of Best Fit – ‘Undeniably sexy.’
Synth pop duo KALEIDA will release their debut EP ‘THINK’ on 6th April through LEX Records. Today they announce that they will support Roisin Murphy on her upcoming run of UK shows, as well as headlining their own show at Birthdays London on 11th April.

KALEIDA is the combined talents of London based Christina Wood (vocals, lyrics) and Cicely Goulder (keys & production, lyrics).
The embodiment of all that it means to be DIY, minimal and feminine, the buzz surrounding KALEIDA first began to build in late 2013 as their effortlessly catchy early online demos, tracks ‘THINK’ and ‘TROPEA’ set the blog world alight. Taking this as the green light they needed, KALEIDA have since spent the last 12 months further honing their stripped back synth style and aforementioned tracks to great response.
KALEIDA explore a variety of themes across their self-produced EP, from doomed love through to world politics. One of the tracks in particular, ALIAA, a commentary on internet activist and women’s rights advocate Aliaa Magda Elmahdy and the rape threats she received after her protests against the Egyptian Islamic state, demonstrates the duos’ breadth of songwriting references and inspiration.
THINK, from the EP of the same name has received global attention (reaching #2 Russian iTunes chart) after being selected for the soundtrack of Keanu Reeves’s latest blockbuster ‘John Wick’, released in the UK 7th April.
The track listing for the THINK EP released on 6th April is:
1. Think
2. Tropea
3. The Call
4. Ruby
5. Take Me To The River
6. Aliaa
