COLDPLAY ANNOUNCE THE RELEASE OF ‘HURTS LIKE HEAVEN’ SINGLE AND VIDEO

• Animated video introducing Mylo Xyloto comic series premieres today

Coldplay have today unveiled the animated video for Hurts Like Heaven, the fifth and final single to be taken from the band’s worldwide Number One album, Mylo Xyloto. It is available to watch now at Coldplay.com or see below.

The video, directed by Mark Osborne (Kung Fu Panda, MORE, and the upcoming The Little Prince), charts a graffiti gang’s colourful but doomed rebellion against Major Minus and his oppressive regime. It is the prequel to the story of Mylo Xyloto which will be told via the six-part Mylo Xyloto comic series to be released monthly by Matt Groening’s celebrated Bongo Comics from February 2013. The comic series is available to pre-order from today at Coldplay.com.

An exclusive making-of film for the video is available to Android users via the Xperia Lounge app (http://cldp.ly/xperialng). The app also features two full tracks from Coldplay’s eagerly-awaited concert film / live album, Live 2012, which is released on 19 November on CD/DVD, Blu-ray & digitally.

The videos for Mylo Xyloto’s four previous singles have together been viewed more than 267 million times on YouTube/Vevo.
