The highly-anticipated new EP from Norwegian pop sensation Astrid S is out today via Virgin EMI Records. The EP – entitled Party’s Over – features six tracks including ‘Breathe’, ‘Bloodstream’ and ‘Party’s Over’, as well as three previously-unreleased songs ‘Sushi’, ‘Does She Know’ and new single ‘Such A Boy’.
Multiple tracks on the Party’s Over EP were co-written by Astrid and a series of handpicked producers who helped shape a distinctive sound for the release. ‘Such A Boy’, released today, was co-written by Astrid and produced by Cass Lowe, best known for his work with ZAYN, Snakehips, Flume and MØ.
Astrid tackles a wide range of themes across the EP: “I’ve been working on this EP for over a year, so I’m very happy to finally share it with everybody and get the music out there. I have a close relationship with all of the songs, and there’s a story behind each one of them. The hours spent in the studio with these producers have been so much fun. I’m so proud of their work on these songs and proud to also call them my friends!!”
Party’s Over EP also includes previous single ‘Breathe’, which was produced by Oscar Holter from the production team Wolf Cousins (Tove Lo, Demi Lovato, Ellie Goulding). ‘Breathe’ quickly achieved remarkable success: the track was named ‘Tune of the Week’ on BBC Radio 1’s Scott Mills Show and has recently hit over 30 million streams on Spotify alone, while the music video has recently surpassed one million views on YouTube.

Astrid currently features on ‘Just For One Night’, the latest single from acclaimed UK dance duo Blonde. The single, released earlier this month, has had an incredible response at UK Radio, with an addition to the C-List at Radio One and to the Kiss FM playlist, whilst being chosen as ‘Tune of the Week’ for Scott Mills BBC Radio One Show. The track also featured on Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday’ playlist in 14 territories, including both the UK and the US, and has already amassed over 1.5 million streams.
Party’s Over follows Astrid S’ debut, self-titled EP which was released last year. The EP featured breakthrough hit, ‘Hurts So Good’ and gained Astrid international praise from the likes of The Guardian, who described her as “waiting in the wings of global stardom”. Last year, Astrid also won the Spellemannprisen Award (Norwegian Grammy Awards) for ‘Breakthrough Artist of the Year’, was awarded ‘Best Norwegian Act’ at the MTV European Music Awards and was chosen by Popjustice as one of the acts most likely to save pop music in 2017! To date, her music has totalled over 400 million streams worldwide and counting.
Astrid S has recently announced her largest ever headline tour – the ‘Party’s Over World Tour’ – kicking off this September. The Norwegian pop star will play shows across North America and Europe, including two dates in the UK. The announcement follows Astrid’s recent sold-out shows in Los Angeles, New York and at London’s Scala.
